Not everyone has room inside for a bike. Whether you ride a 10-speed bicycle, rugged mountain bike or BMX trick bike it’s a good idea to cover the bike with a high quality, tear-resistant, weatherproof cover that will keep the bicycle well protected when stored outside overnight or during foul weather. If left unprotected dirt, grime, rain, wind, ice and other outdoor hazards can wreak havoc with gears, tires, brakes and the frame of the bike itself turning a nice bicycle into a piece of junk. When combined with heavy duty clamps and tie-down cords you can effectively store your bike under a cover that is safe and won’t blow away when heavy winds blow.
Bike storage isn’t always easy. If you don’t have a garage or storage room and can’t squeeze another item into a cramped apartment or condo you may have no choice but to leave your bike outside. In addition to having a secure lock to protect against theft you will also want to protect the bicycle from foul weather, dirt and dust. Leaving a bike outside unprotected is just inviting damage. Although it may not seem like much over time rain, wind, dust and debris will gradually wear down the exterior finish of a bike and also get into sensitive gears and brakes causing grime build up and eventual break downs. With a high quality bike cover you not only protect the finish of the bicycle frame but also keep parts and gears safe from harm.
Bicycle covers come in a wide variety of high quality materials including vinyl and polyester that are not only tear-resistant but also capable of withstanding most outdoor weather hazards including rain, sleet, heavy winds and snow. With durable clamps and tie downs you can easily secure your bicycle cover to the ground so nothing will be able to budge the bike during a freak summer storm or intense winter snowfall. Though bicycle covers are rugged and made to withstand most weather conditions it is not recommended that you keep a bicycle outside during major weather storms such as hurricanes, tornados and hail storms.
